Building yourself up, just to be broken down again

Have you ever experienced feeling on top of the world and then the next moment you find yourself at the bottom again? Do you feel that it seems to be a never-ending cycle of building yourself up, just to be broken down again?

I have come to terms with this and find that it is the main contribution to the growth one achieves in life, and the faster the cycle happens, the more you grow, thus I try and take on every opportunity that comes my way, even if it does mean being broken down again. One thing is for certain; you should never let it discourage you from trying again.

It is through this process of building yourself up and being broken down again that you grow and that you learn how to deal with situations that you ordinarily would not be faced with if you were sitting around and waiting for things to happen on its own.

For instance, if you are faced with a stressful situation, eventually you will overcome the situation or challenge and then you will look back and question why you were so stressed about it, and then in the future when faced with a similar challenge, it will be easier for you, and less stressful to overcome, thus making it easier for you to achieve what you want to achieve. Without the first challenge, it would be a different story.

It becomes a source of motivation; to try and try again, until you achieve what you have set out to achieve.

Even if you are at the top of the ladder, might it be in your social, professional or personal environment there are always challenges that will bring you down, or at least that will attempt to bring you down, it is how you deal with these challenges that take you to the next level.

The key is, and this is what I find personally, is to be positive, inspired as well as inspirational and motivated as well as motivational to others at all times to achieve your goals, aspirations and dreams.

Here is a quote to end off my post: “The happiest people don’t have the best of everything, they make the best of everything”.

a post I typed on Tuesday night but did not post...

So our electricity has just gone off, what to do? Blog time! Lol…

It has been a long day shooting for Getroud Met Rugby, this morning’s call time was 6am and we only wrapped at 6pm, which is 12 hours in your face! And then I still had to build up the energy to hit the gym, if that aint dedication, then I don’t know what is! Haha!

Once again, I have to admit that being on set around established actors is teaching me a lot, the experience I am gaining is incredible and the insight is extremely valuable.

Our final scene today was quite a hectic one, where one of the actors had to dig deep into their emotions and really get to the root of being sad and distraught to deliver the performance required for their character, and a tip that was mentioned to me was that whenever you experience something hectic in life, as an actor, try and hold onto a little piece of it, so that when you need to deliver a part you can think back to that experience and use it towards your performance.

So far we have been doing loads of different scenes, this week is all the locker room scenes and bathroom/ shower scenes and then next week will be our rugby field scenes, it is gonna be a crazy one with all the running around!

It is going to be a sad day wrapping for the soap, however I do believe that it is just the start of many more greater things and a new journey that I plan on embarking on, most definitely once I have completed my studies, lol, cos rite now, trying to juggle the two and get some studying done while on set is proving to be quite a task, but I will pull thru and manage, at least I have done pretty well so far in terms of CASS results.

Anyways, I am going to head to bed early this evening, and most likely only post this tomorrow once the power is back on.

Hope you are all having an awesome week! Xx

Ps. Thank you for reading my blog and the mails you guys send, I enjoy it tons!

GMR Parking lot scenes...

Behind the scenes of the set of Getroud Met Rugby shooting the parking lots scenes with JC Snooke and Izak Davel! :0)

Summin a little more UbBeat!

So after my post about Virgin active I think it is needed to post something a bit more uplifting with a bit more of a 'feel good mood', also especially after the week I have had.

With being on set for hours and hours and the assignment hand ins for VEGA I have actually not had a lot of time to myself, which I now find I am craving, it seems to be that I am that type of person that enjoys alone time, quality time and me time...

Anyways, with that said, it has been fun!

This week I worked on a magazine as one of my assignments, all based on Richard Branson and leadership, it was the first time doing my own magazine, and it came out quite nicely... It was handed in today, so we shall see what my lecturers think.

Our exams start in the next two weeks, and we kick off with my most hated subject, economics! I shall be spending my spare time on set studying!

While shooting yesterday I was booked to do a quick photo shoot for a show coming to our stages in October at the Nelson Mandela theatre in JHB, called Le Noir, it was pretty cool, I got to act like an acrobatic for an hour, we got some amazing fitness shots, I shall see if I can get my hands on one or two of them :0)

Anyways, I hope you guys have a super weekend! I shall be taking it as easy as possible, doing an awesome shoot for PhD underwear on Sunday at the Radison Blu hotel and got a cool meeting tomorrow that I shall let you all in on when the time is rite...

Ps. If you have not yet, get your hands on the latest issues of HEAT magazine and Superbike ;0)
