Sunday Sunset Cruises | Cape Town

The best thing about summers in Cape Town is watching the sunset over the ocean. Last summer I spent most of my later afternoons/ early evenings on Clifton beach after work doing just that, which made me appreciate living in this beautiful city even more.

This past weekend I got to experience the view from a different angle if you will. From the Tigresse yacht, paired with amazing company and some champagne. It was also a first for me, going out to see for the first time.

Here are some pics from the afternoon out at sea :0)

Cape Town Summer Loving 2014

I am looking so forward to this summer in Cape Town! First of all it will be my first full summer in the mother city and secondly, I am in love with life :0)

Plans for this summer is to really just chill and hang out with those closest to me! The fact that we have the beach and the mountains on our doorstep is a bonus! The sun has started to rise earlier and set later, which is great as we can enjoy the beach after work!

All the events and launches and summer club nights have started, so we really are already getting into the holiday vibe.

This past weekend we did exactly that! Nic and myself headed out on Friday night for the opening of St. Yves here in Cape Town and then headed to Shimmy Beach club, which is a must see if you do plan on visiting Cape Town this summer! What a night!

Then Saturday we decided that instead of facing the scorching sun on the beach we would rather go and chill pool side at The Glen Boutique hotel which is always a pleasure while sipping on cocktails with our mates.

Sundays are always reserved for family, just saying ;0) haha!

Anyhows! Here are a few pics from our weekend!

Have an awesome week! xx

The Perfect Accessory For Your Face This Summer

My perfect summer day over a weekend includes tanning on the beach in my speedo or shorts, with a couple of dips in the ocean followed by cocktails at a summer lounge in Camps Bay and then sundowners at Bungalow in Clifton.

It makes for a perfect day of Instagramming and photo sharing, I mean, who can resist posting a photo while lying on the beach?

But wait, a photo always looks so much better when you look better! Solution? Accessorize your face! Haha! As corny as that sounds!

I was lucky enough to receive a few pairs of Lundun Eyewear sunglasses recently, and boy oh boy do I love them! Most of the brand’s sunglasses are unisex, beautifully designed and all look classy! What is better is that you don’t have to pay a premium price for a premium product!

So my sunglass recommendation for summer is most definitely Lundun Eyewear!

Fetching You Some Summer Skin Care Tips

Summer is fast approaching and I for one am gearing up to hit the beaches and take full advantage of the summer rays! Not without protection though.

I have to admit that sometimes I am slack with protecting and looking after my skin, but I have vowed that I am going to pick up my gain and rather look after my skin now than sit with problems later on in life. No to wrinkles and sun spots or just no to damaged skin for that matter.

Now even though one should always look after your skin and protect your skin from the harmful sun rays, I think precaution should be taken throughout the year, even during the winter months, I mean, the sun does not take a holiday :0)

So here are a few summer skin care tips, the same tips I am going to be following this summer!

Hydration: First and foremost, I think hydration should be your main concern for summer! Especially with the hours spent dehydrating not only in the sun, but also in the bars and clubs. Your skin needs to remain hydrated from the inside out. Its pretty simple.

Timing: The sun's UV rays are the strongest between 10am and 4pm. Granted the time that you would spend in the sun during your holiday time is probably in the afternoon, so just be more aware that at that time you need to be extra careful, use extra protection and keep extra hydrated. With that said,  use extra caution near water, snow and sand as they reflect damaging UV rays and increase your chances of sunburn and other damage to the skin and eyes.

Fashion: Again, it is pretty simple, but cover up. Use a cap or hat especially to protect your face from the sun.

Your eyes: Wear sunglasses that provide 100% UV ray protection, look for those that advertise both UVB and UVA protection.

Product: Besides cleansing and moisturising your skin on a daily basis, and not just your face, but your whole body, make sure you use a protective SPF Sunscreen. Use a sunscreen with SPF 15 or more to protect skin that is uncovered. Apply the sunscreen 30 minutes before you head into the sun, perhaps in the morning as well and then reapply every 1 to 2 hours.

So that is it, it is pretty simple. I know that I don't usually follow these tips during summer, but I am becoming more aware of my skin's health, so this season and going forward I will be including this into my every day regime.

If your lost on the type of sunscreen you need to use, here is something to consider. It is a great sunscreen and also has anti-sand technology, meaning that it is completely matt and non sticky and not oily at all, and no shine! You can ask for it at your local Spa or skin treatment centre. Check it out here: SIX Skincare

Turn Down For What Weekend | With Brad & Nic

All I keep thinking is dammit, I should have got some video of this weekend! But there seriously was no time for that. But I did get plenty pics, so sharing a few here!

My mate, Brad Jay who is a local television presenter, model, gym instructor, clothing brand owner and awesome friend booked his flight to come stay with us a few weeks ago and flew down to Cape Town this weekend! It was literally a Cape Town takeover! The three boys taking over Cape Town that is!

From doing all the 'outdoorsie' things like hiking, beaching, gymming on the Seapoint promenade and taking long walks to hitting the clubs such as Coco's, Caprice, Jade, Orphanage, The Grand and more we had loads of Instagram pics to take! The highlight of the weekend was having my mate down and making so many good memories!

I have to admit though, Lionshead was quite a challenge for me, but I made it down alive with Brad and Nic pushing me!

The weekend was filled with laughs and moments that you just want to hold onto forever! Which I will be doing :0) Looking forward to reuniting with my mate in December!

Check out the pics below :0)
